  1. Not so much into games, but liked the movie talk…

I remember Dark Crystal…it is streaming on Netflix…I liked it when I was younger. Maybe I’ll rewatch…

I also am a fan of National Treasure.

I was scarred for life by a ugly X rated email that circulated about the Smurfs when I was in college, I just can’t see myself going to the movie and looking at it the same way as I did when I was little, so I’ll probably skip that one. 🙂

Nice discussion…yes, Liz, I missed your voice 🙂

Also, I know that Magic is some sort of card game, I am wondering what you think of the newer “card” based games like Pokemon and Bakugan. Austin loves these and I guess my brother in law has a lot of Magic cards. Austin is almost 7 is he too young to understand Magic? Do you think if he is interested in Pokemon and Bakugan for the powers and point values etc, he would be interested in Magic?

    1. I played a couple of Pokemon games over 11 years ago. I know another company puts it out now, but I think its the same game. I haven’t played any collectable cards games in 4+ years, but I think I may start playing some again.

Austin should be able to understand Magic. I’d say Pokemon is sort of a simplified version of Magic. You have resources to manage and decisions to make about when you play certain cards. Magic has more depth than a Pokemon game, but the processes are probably pretty close. Most of the card games nowadays are pretty similar just because of the way they work.

  2. I think I got a little lost in the game review but I think gamers will enjoy. Maybe we should do a podcast where you guys try to teach me to play D&D or something. Like a Gaming 101 Podcast…

I remember car rides as a kid- laying in the back seat, I was a car reader, and my mom would do these pillow case treats- a pillow case full of little books or toys or treats and I’d get to pick something out each hour or 30 minutes or whatever. I was a good traveler. And our kids are, too. Having a DVD player in the car is a life saver for long car rides, for sure, though. And on long trips, we do break it up with an overnight somewhere, frequent potty and food stops, and chances to just run around.

I want to go to Walker’s Bluff!! It sounds like my kind of place!

(35 mins in and need to pause for a bit)

  3. I find it funny that every time Jeff or Dave says something about Liz or brian being too loud or blowing up ears or whatever… it never seems like that big a deal to Brian or Liz on the headphones and doesn’t come across hot or loud or whatever.

Movie talk… I’d love to participate but given that the last movie I saw was Hop, the next movie I’ll see is Hop and the last movie I saw that I got to choose was Harry Potter and the next movie that I get to choose that I see will most likely be the next Harry Potter… I don’t really have much to say. I do like popcorn, though.
